If you want to use GPT models then yes, you need a key for the OpenAI API allowing Kirby Copilot request text completions from it. If you want to use Anthropic Claude or Mistral models instead, you will need an API key for the respective provider.

Kirby Copilot is compatible with Kirby 4 and Kirby 5.

When a new major version is released, you will be able to upgrade to that version at a generous discount. A typical major version is intended to be released alongside a new major Kirby version.
